From a batch of LBVs that I tasted over a couple of days in late 2010.
2003 Quinta de la Rosa LBV
unfiltered, bottled 2007
Color: Dark ruby, not quite opaque.
Nose: Plummy, with some alcohol showing. Faint mostly black fruits.
Palate: Dark and round, but a little short. Tannins are slightly gritty. Moderate acidity. Not terribly complex, but very tasty.
Finish: Short, almost dry ending. Very slight edge. Good purple and black fruits.
Score: 91 points. Fairly straightforward, but what's there is superb. Some depth or added complexity could easily boost this a couple of points.
