2007 Kopke Vintage Port
Color: Very dark ruby. Not opaque, but that probably due to the short pour.
Nose: Very grapey - almost tanky.
Palate: A tiny bit sharp, but you have to pay attention to notice. Good tannins and acidity. Moderate red profile to the fruits.
Finish: Some heat on the finish and somewhat more of the sharpness from the palate. Good length. Nicely grapey.
Score: 93 points. Not as good to me as the Porto Rocha, which is odd because as I understand things Porto Rocha grapes come primarily from Kopke holdings. Still an excellent VP and worthy of cellaring.

As we know, their Tawny Port are some of the best around so I'm glad to see this house improving the quality of their VP's recently.

Yep, the 2007 is worthy. My note on it is in the March newsletter coming out mid-month.

Interesting. This is on sale at Beltramos, Menlo Park, CA for $ 49.99. I think I will get a few. Thanks.
