From a batch of LBVs that I tasted over a couple of days in late 2010.
2005 Ramos Pinto LBV
unfiltered, bottled 2009
Color: Dark garnet and purple.
Nose: Soft, tart grapes. Faint alcohol. Slightly tanky.
Palate: Tannic, tart, and medium dry. Very red in flavor. Red vines? Good acidity.
Finish: Tannins, tart red fruits. A little rough, but clean.
Score: 90 points.
