Bottled 2010
Treading the line of both a wood aged and Ruby Port there is enough dried nuts, nutmeg, and carmel mixed in with strawberries and some light tannins to keep lovers of both interested. A little heat early on the palate subsides and allows a mix of soft red fruits and roasted chestnuts to shine through. The finish is misleadingly short as those chestnuts hang ever so subtly. This younger Colheita drinks well now and I only hope to be able to try this some years from now after it has the chance to matured even more in casks.
