Tasted at opening, after 6 hrs and then after 8 hrs (just before drinking). Started at 90 (opening), then 92 (6 hrs) and by the time we were going to drink it (8 hrs), then it had developed to 94 pts.
8 hrs decanting. Dark red colour with a light rim of violet colour. Cool semi-sweet aroma of dark red/black fruits and mix of spices (incl pepper). You get in good mood when experiencing such an aroma! In the mouth it is full body, powerful, but at the same time also elegant with a high concentration of fruit. In spite of the sweetness in the start, it ends up slightly on the dry side with very nice nicely balanced tannins. Medium length in the finish. This vintage port must be reaching an incredible level in abt 10-15 years time. Purchased only one bottle to test, but will definitely buy more! 94 pts.
