Bottled in 2009.
first night opened, will update with more thoughts over the next few days / weeks...

Orange tinged tawny in color, nutty aroma, but over beared by alcohol on the nose, a orange/citrus / stawberry cream flavor in the front (very nice and really matches the color profile) with a nutty, sugar coated almonds?, finish medium to short in length...strawberry/ cherry undertone in the finish stays longer. This may be its peak...I wonder if they bottled it all? Very original...my love of Cohleitas is now started...tastes like Christmas

oops, just realized this is NOT in the right spot on the board...oh well.
Moderators will save me...

second night, the nose is much more relaxed, the flavors have evolved into more of cherry cough syrup, nutty finish of the first night seems lost, still a strong medium finish but without the nutty overtone. Certainly preferred it the first evening. Maybe my taste buds are out of whack tonight...88...

Nice TN and I did move it for you.

I was intrigued that you found the finish a bit on the short side.

Night three.

I was definitely off last night. Much more like the first night with less alcohol on the nose. Good stuff. Score restored!
had a few swigs with some chocolate tonight, really brought out the tannins (the little bit of them left in there) and flavors really popped.

Roy, compared to the rocking finish of the 2000 Niepoort I tasted over new years, this finish is a baby...all a matter of perspective I guess. Used to drinking strong single malts so used to lingering finishes..
