2005 Graham's LBV Port
Posted: Sun Apr 10, 2011 6:38 pm
Opened 4/10/11. Filtered.
Color was inky, dark purple. Aroma was primarily cherries, with a little blackberry. Taste was pretty much the same, just maybe a little more on the blackberry side with a some plum thrown in. My wife said she got some lemon out of it. Not spirity at all and tannins, while present, were not overpowering. Overall, a fairly well integrated LBV if a little on the simple side. Relatively short finish. Very pleasant and a good value at <$25 for the bottle.
Overall score: 90 (maybe a point more generous than I would otherwise be, since it was the first Port I have had in a couple of weeks and was just glad to be drinking it again.) In any case, I would seek it out again.
