Still very dark in color doesn't show it's true age. The nose was a bit tight but there was some dark fruit peaking out. Plums dominate the rich fruit with a touch of heat not normal for this bottle. Plenty of spices and a semi-sweet palate full of cranberries. A lovely bottle but not quite up to par with a prior bottle of this from the same case.

There was a couple glasses of this left and today it is so much better. The heat is gone, young dark fruit is prominate, and the finish is full. This obviously suffered from a lack of decanting last night. A different profile than last night for sure. My revised score is...

The two will balance out in the TNDB as 94 points. Typically I find a lot more love from solid bottles of the F70, but that's just me.

This was splash decanted, rebottled, corked, driven 400 miles, popped and poured. Some conversation surrounded this as this got noticeably better as the evening went on as it sat in an open bottle. The splash decant and re-bottle/cork obviously didn't do anything to help it. So I'm guessing that combination had something to do with it not being quite up to par.

Probably so, although it probably got swirled around a lot too during the 400 mile drive too. Was it consumed the same night as your drive?
