Proceeds of the sales are to go to his victims.

IIRC it is mostly cheaper stuff and hard liquor and mini-bottles....The question I had though, does the US Marshall's have a valid resale liquor license to sell the alcohol stuff off as required by the TTB

Didn't know he actually had any Ports. But I do know how Law Enforcement handles/stores evidence. That is, when confiscated it went into someones trunk or large non-air-conditioned van that sat outside all day as they loaded it up before driving it somewhere to drop it off. Then it was toss in a room or shed, maybe indoors but most likely outside, and most likely without air conditioning. Not exactly the ideal conditions in keeping wine at its best.

At a recent beer judging our Best in Show was a Sour Belgian Dark Strong that had been aged by driving around in a car. I think it had like 600 miles on it. It was not picked for professional brewing because none of the brewers thought they could recreate that process.
