For The Love Of Port

Decanted for 24 hours. Deep magenta. Gave up a decent amount of very fine sediment--more than I was expecting. The nose is a bit clipped, dark fruits with a slight floral & earthy aroma. The first taste was spirity, but subsequent tastes were less so. Dark berries, hint of cherry and an earthy texture almost like the smell in flower garden where you pick up the floral but also a hint of the earth--yet it was pleasing. Touches of sweet leather towards the end. This was only a 375MM bottle shared with a friend so no chance to see how it evolves.
