On decant this looked red and youthful. The nose was spicy with casis, black pepper, cinnamon and hints of cocoa. With no air time, it was sweet with black currant flavours. A little one dimensional and no length to the tannins.
After 4 hrs in the decanter The nose hadn't changed much. There was a bit of cherry, berry and currant on the palate. It was sweet and bright - hard to believe this was 13 years old. It transitions into the tannins with a slight bitterness. The tannins aren't particularly long and it provides pleasant drinking.
24 hours later the spice had blown off and there was some bubblegum and blueberry on the nose. Tannins were soft and the red fruit was still present but not as bright as the previous day
I think this is more of a medium term prospect and I'd aim to drink up to 25 years old. 89 points
