- 2005 Prats and Symington Douro Chryseia - Portugal, Douro (12/11/2011)
Decant for 1-hour prior to drinking. Very dense dark fruit on the nose that carries through on the palate as well. While all that dark fruit is readily apparent don't confuse it as being overripe fruit, which is isn't. Tannins are almost fully resolved and there is a bitter component on the short finish. A pretty simple and straight forward wine that lacks character and grip. I've generally liked where other vintages of this are at right now, this one however doesn't seem to be getting better with age.
