1968 Dalva LBV Port

Decant: 24 hours - Bottled 1973 - appears to have been filtered, but managed to throw a little sludgy sediment.
Deep orange in colour, 10% opaque - looks more like an aged Sauterne than a vintage port. Honey and lemon on the nose. Sweet butterscotch impact which develops nicely to reveal toasted Scotch flavours but very light bodied. Air allows floral tones to show through. Slightly acidic on swallowing, which fades slowly to allow a soft marshmallow flavour to linger. Very light and very aged, but quite pleasant nonetheless. 80 points
