NV Graham's Emperor Tawny Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 12 hours - A basic, blended tawny from a bottle sealed with a screw cap. The bottle came from a small parcel of bottles which would indicate that the bottle was approximately 30 years old.

A rich mahogany in colour, 50% opaque. Nosing of clover honey and mandarins. Smokey on the palate, but with a pleasant smoothness and elegance. Rather one-dimensional and lacking in depth but a very pleasant texture. Dominated by flavours of brown sugar and toffee. Decent finish, of modest duration with lots of hazelnut oil. A very agreeable entry level tawny. 84 points
