1999 Warre LBV Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 4 hours - Traditional LBV, bottled 2003. Deep red in colour; closed on the nose, showing very little other than some volatile alcohol. Lovely depth on entry; rich licorice and deep, sweet brambles. Soft but persistent tannins grip the teeth and cheeks. Really lovely development on the palate. Slight heat from the acidity on the aftertaste, followed by a long and grippy finish. Very tasty, and with lots of improvement ahead of it if patiently left in the cellar for another 5-10 years. 90 points
