2006 Dow's LBV Port -- Unfiltered

Post by Andy Velebil »

A Port I can't ever recall trying before, and why I don't know. Though sealed with a T-Cork stopper this is an unfiltered LBV. Loaded with blueberries, a touch of menthol, a dash of cedar, and black licorice. There is no way I could miss the large dusty tannins on the medium long finish. I am very impressed with how seamless this transitions from the palate to the finish and with no noticeable heat at all. The best Dow's LBV I ever remember having...and I'm kicking myself for not trying this sooner. A must buy, actually buy lots of this. I know I'll be going back to load up on more.

A few days later this is still holding up very well. Chocolate is now dominating the palate along with the fruit. Tasty :winebath:

A lot of people were really impressed with the 2005 of this Andy - which do you prefer?
Seems there might be some good 06 lbvs around, despite 06 being the worst vintage of the decade.
