After 3 hours in the decanter, colour is deep ruby, opaque, garnet rim. Nose is not much open, mostly on dark ripe fruits, chocolate and licorice. On the palate, sweet entry on milk chocolate and fruit flavours, then the tannins are taking over. It feels like tasting those young 2003 VP. This VP is has so much concentration in tannins, from mid palates to the finish, the structure is taking over the flavours and the flesh. There is a lot of stuff there but not really able to express itself properly. We'll see in a few hours/days how it is evolving. After 11 years, I'm surprised to see this Port so though. For pleasure right now I'm giving a 16/20 but there is a lot of room for improvement if it does integrate well overtime.
