1965 Porto Rocha Colheita Port
Medium-dark caramel color, hints of orange-green near the rim. Some initial volatility blew off in the decanter, revealing a very appealing nose of burnt butterscotch, celery seed, and maple syrup. The heat on the palate is borderline but pleasant, very smooth and less acidic than anticipated. Touch of walnuts on the shortish finish. Overall a pretty complete drinking experience. From half-bottle, bottled 2005, 4 days in stoppered decanter. (92 pts.)
