1966 Fonseca Vintage Port

Decant: 8½ hours double decanted - English bottled, but bottler unknown. Deep red, very dark brown with a firm rim; 80% opaque. Freshly picked mint and red cherry juice on the nose, lots of alcohol showing through, but this faded rapidly with time in the glass. Sweet fruit dominates the entry, full and rich with a lively nutmeg on the palate. Big and rich with fruit dominating the fabulously rich aftertaste and long dry finish. Superb port. 96 points
