Decant: Not Known - Slightly darker than the Croft 1970 shown alongside; 50% opaque with a deep red core. Pronounced on the nose, deep and rich, smelling like a healthy compost heap. Flavourless entry, with gentle tannins supporting the texture and sweetness and flavours of golden treacle. Lovely long aftertaste, full of dry chocolate. This promises much from the nose, but does not deliver that promise on the palate. 85 points
