1969 Taylor Quinta de Vargellas Investiture Crusted Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 12 hours - A bottle of "Vargellas Ruby, selected by Munday's of Swansea and bottled in 1969 in commemoration of the investiture of the Prince of Wales" which was deduced to mean that this was a Crusted port bottled in 1969.

Mature red, 50% opaque. Modest nose, showing a touch of heat. Soft and silky entry, light bodied with plenty of soft cranberry and with very firm tannins. Heat on the aftertaste, heat which lasts a long time, but which leads to a long and dry finish. Tasty and enjoyable. 85 points
