1970 Warre Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: Not Known - Firm red colour; 50% opaque. Fragrant nose, with lots of ginger, lavender and lilac. Sweet white cherries on the palate with surprising dry tannins at the core of the wine - great balance and nice palate weight. Generous fruit on the mid-palate but with that lovely sweet core and soft tannin. Slight heat and bitterness on the aftertaste; very dry finish of huge proportions. Served blind, this was guessed to be Dow 1985. 93 points
