1985 Warre Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 4 hours - The colour of early maturity, 80% opaque with a firm rim. Muted nose, some hawthorn pepperiness and bramble fruit. Medium bodied, with a light and silky entry. Very dry tannins dry out the mouth with a slightly stalky / green attack. Sweet and composed strawberry fruit comes through on the mid-palate to yield a wine with a lovely elegance but which is need of more time in the cellar. Delicious cranberry aftertaste and a long, big finish that is just wonderful. 83 points
