From a 375ml bottle, tasted at the FTLOP 1983 VP Retrospective. While the tasting was blind, I knew what this one was as I supplied the 375 and the size of the bottle was known to the tasters.
Lighter red-brown color with good clarity. Aromas of light smoke on top of alcohol (VA?), with a slight floral quality as well. Musty. Sweet berry fruit with a lighter body; more developed with a tawny hint. What I detected as musty, others reported as TCA, and I didn’t disagree with that assessment. It was at a low level and didn’t prohibit me from drinking this. 90 points, but that seems too high.
