2011 Taylor Vintage Port

Just a touch lighter than opaque. Beautiful nose! Earth, raspberry, and blackberry. Very nice high-toned herbal note. Not herbal in an unripe way at all. Real intensity. I love the balance. The fruit is intense, but the wine isn’t heavy or over done at all. I dare say that this is Burgundian – meaning that the fruit is framed by the structure, but not dominated by it and the fruit is not heavy or ponderous. There is a fascinating element of transparency here that I would say is rare in a young vintage port, but I have experienced this with older Taylor Vintage Ports. A superb Vintage Port! You also won’t want to miss this one either. 95-97 points
