Decanted 8 hours, cork was very solid but soaked through. Wine was hitting full stride just as we went to bed, so more like 10-12 hours would probably be ideal. Still very dark color.
The nose had a lot of red hard candy fruit notes, along with a medicinal edge. This mellowed some as it hit stride and the palate was a reasonably smooth and balanced, with good warmth, a mox of red and black fruit, and a forest floor component. It was relatively straight forward, and was still showing well the next morning.
