Ferreira 10 Year Old Tawny Port

Post by Miguel Simoes »

Just popped and poured. V pleasant.
Can clearly tell wooden flavors in it. Not as acidic as the 20 year, tasty finish but not as memorable in length or intensity. Can tell the similarity in style between the two.
At half the price of the 20 year seems priced about right. I'd still definitely go for a half glass of the 20 yr over a full glass of the 10 year.

This 10 year (I've recently noticed) is being reported on very favorably. I am on the lookout, and will probably make a special trip to the Portuguese section of Newark very soon as I have not seen it in my local shops. Thanks everyone for comments on all ports... it helps expand my learning and prevents me from going back to standards.

One of these days my buying habits have to slow down to match my drinking pace, or I have to pick up my drinking pace to match my spending...

If you ever make it up to Fort Lee and the GW Bridge, a wine shop here has it for $21+tax, a steal! You can order it for pickup at the store (so as to avoid shipping fees).
Wine O Land, of Howell NJ, also has it crazy cheap.

THANKS! I was just telling John M. I need to cut down on my buying and you tell me about a store in my own backyard. What a selection!
