2008 Taylor Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Port
Classic purple of a youngster. Moderate weight. Slightly opaque. The nose gives up plum and cassiss generously. Very fragrant. Tasting I got blackberry, cassiss. Rather tannic in a short clipped finish. It does seem thinner than average--yet the flavors are plentiful--just not dense and lush. Easy to sip and with time the tannic qualities should abate. I drank this over 5 nights (refridged the last two)--drank with 12 hour decant forward and never got the heat I've read in other TNs--it held up quite well. Has some nice potential but I plan to save my remaining ones for a long while. 92 points.
Any Port in a storm!
