Had a glass yesterday at a restaurant in NYC (Lillie's close to Union Sq). Was v positively surprised.

Viscous, color was more red than i expected, no alcohol heat, v smooth in the mouth wo being overly sweet (even a little acidic that i found v nice) and a long, strong nutty finish that really impressed me.

Cheapest I can find it online is about 2x the price for Ferreira 20 Year... seems fair. Feel in the mouth and finish being the drivers.

95-96 points

Others dont seem to rate it nearly as high. Wonder if my experience was driven by the bottle having (most likely) been open for a while, instead of a more pop-and-pour situation.

I have always thought this was the best of their line up, even better than the 40 year. That said, I've not had the 30 year in at least 2-3 years IIRC. Your note has spurred my mental reminder tool (aka brain) to remember to grab a bottle next time I run across it for sale at a shop.
