Vintage chart / tasting dates

I think it woudl be a great if you were able to expand your vintage chart to include some recommednations from each vintage. I think just two or three recommednations for each year along the lines of say 'best port', 'best value' and 'best avoided' or something like that.

In addition, it woudl also be helpful if we had some idea of when yor tasting tasting notes were taken - an indication of the year would be fine -as a comment like "needs another five years" means different things for a wine tasted in 2001 and one tasted in 2006!

Thanks

Philip

Funny you should ask about TN dates. Roy and I have been meticulously going back and adding dates to all of his tasting notes, and this information will be listed in the new TN section when the new site format launches in December!

If you need specific TN dates before the new site launch, please PM me with the notes you are looking for and I can look them up in the database.

I'll let Roy respond to your vintage chart suggestion.

Philip,

I like your suggestion very much and think that providing some of my favorite VPs of the vintage might be worthy. I don't know that I would necessarily go beyond declared vintages though. Of course the Ports listed would be very subjective and what I like, may certainly not appeal to everyone.

I also think that including the Vintage Port company "rankings" and Vintage chart itself, in the list of the website's main features (site map) might make sense too.

Ok Andy, I am back to work in earnest, focusing on the upcoming newsletter.

Fortunately, no more travel until Christmas!
