1947 Cockburn Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: Pop 'n' pour - Mid-deep orange in colour, looking rather anaemic; 20% opaque. Slightly hollow nose, a touch medicinal and a little faint alcohol. On the palate this is astonishing. Intense flavours of old orange and licorice supported by a powerful streak of acidity. An incredible intensity to this port. The finish is long, concentrated and full of immense orange syrup - and is unbelieveably long. Stunning port that is a real privilege to drink. 95 points
