1947 Cockburn Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 6 hours - Burnt sienna colour, 30% opaque. Lovely nose, lots of aniseed and licorice over a sweet red pepper. Sweet on the palate; soft, sweet caramel and powerful mandarin orange sweetness mixed with a ripe, mandarin acidity. A huge burst of pepper on the aftertaste, then a very tasty burnt sugar finish before a stunning length of flavours - burnt sugar and burnt toast. Astonishing volume on the finish. 93 points
