1970 Fonseca Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 14½ hours - Grants of St James bottling. Deep red, slight chestnut; 70% opaque. Mature nose of dried beef and meat juices. Very fragrant and very rich. Sweet fruit entry, full of dried and concentrated red fruit. Huge palate presence, absolutely massive and with a lovely thick texture. Huge levels of fruit. Big but resolved tannins, thick and unctuous; sweet and luscious. Huge aftertaste, but with lovely balance, of massive length. Just amazing port, absolutely fabulous. 98 points
