1984 Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 3 hours - Rosy-red, early maturity in appearance. Attractive nose, soft and sweet icing sugar and rose petals. Soft in the mouth, mixing sweet fruit with singing acidity and light peppery tannins. Surprisingly powerful and fragrant, balancing power and elegance well. Slightly hot on the aftertaste, followed by a fierce and multi-layers finish that starts with a fierce pine-resin that slowly fades through menthol to a very long cedar-wood. Overall a very pleasant port that is full of life and will be for many years to come. 88 points
