1983 Taylor Vintage Port

Decant: 4 hours - Imperial College stock. Very pale when first decanted, but put on colour and depth in the decanter. Attractive nose of smoke and strawberry syrup. Masses of sweet, black licorice on the palate, with a lively spiciness throughout the flavours - great palate. Typical Taylor heat on the late palate and aftertaste, gentle tannins giving way to a long, fine finish full of bitter-sweet birch-sap. Tasty and enjoyable port. 87 points
