1977 Warre Vintage Port

Decant: 10 hours - From Tappit Hen, consumed after the Friday evening of the 1963 Quinquagenary tasting. This note written from memory 2½ weeks later as I had no notebook with me at the time.
Very attractive colour, the perfect colour for a mature port. Gentle spiced fruit on the nose, warm and rounded in the mouth. Not complex but very refined and elegant with plenty of sweet red fruit and some soft tannins adding a little tobacco spice. Warm, sweet redcurrants on the aftertaste. Perfect port to consume while sitting round a table putting the world to rights after a flight of 15 glasses of 1963 port. 88 points
