1981 Warre LBV Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: Pop 'n' Pour - Brown and elderly looking, but good depth of colour; 40% opaque. Oxidised, slightly medicinal tone with stewed plums on the nose. Sweet entry, lots of brown sugar and a striking rhubarb acidity. Good texture, quite thick. Enjoyable peppery aftertaste and finish, but a little short and a finish dominated by burnt sugar. Served blind this was guessed to be a compromised bottle of Dow 1970. 82 points
