We are having a dinner party tonight so I have decanted two bottles into an Edinburgh Crystal Thistle pattern magnum ship's captain decanter. There are 11 in the company, and two bottles were needed or a mag. Since my mag port I have is a too young Taylor 92 and Fonseca 92 ( my youngest son's birth year) the Malvedos was in strongest supply and many of this company know good stuff but not after champagne, claret, Montrachet, duck and fresh glazed ham, so the 95 Malvedos is getting 8-10 hours of breathing. We will have some nice Stilton and other cheeses, walnuts, biscuits and a piece of chocolate covered baklava for the dessert course.
We are lighting the candles, getting out the Edinburgh and Gallia ( Yugoslavia) crystal , Wedgewood china and the Old Maryland Engraved silver for an elegant old fashioned dinner party.
Cheers to all during these hoildays!
