1996 Dow's LBV Port

I bought a bottle of the 1996 Dow LBV last week while vacationing in St. Simons Island, Georgia. It was reasonably priced at $21, compared to the 20 year tawnies that the little wine shop wanted $55 for (about $10 higher than I can get them for at home in Illinois).
The wine was pretty much one dimensional. It was dark purple, as it should have been. The taste was sweet, maybe a little too sweet, but with no backbone at all. Not much tannin, and a the spirits came out a little too much. IMHO, the wine didn't offer anything that you can't get by buying a low-end ruby port.
All the best,
John[/b]
