1970 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port

coming on the heels of this month's question for the port trade, i've had the pleasure of consuming 2 bottles of 1970 qdn in the last 2 months. the first bottle was decanted for 10 hours, the second one for less than an hour. i must admit, i enjoyed the bottle with less than an hour more than the one which had been breathing all day. the non decanted bottle was lively, full of fruit and tannins, wonderful mouthfeel, a true killer.
the bottle which had decanted all day had lost some of its backbone, and the fruit was less pronounced. still a wonderful experience, but i enjoyed the bottle that had just been opened much more.
