10 year old tawny Port by Dow's

Picked up as a side issue when hunting down Warre's LBVs at Asda. Came in at £5 per bottle, so I really should have picked up more than the six, but disappointment at the lack of Warre's left me in a poor frame of mind.
This one was taken up to the Lakes for a night-cap last week. Still got a third left so I'm having it with some Colston Basset Stilton and Montgomery Cheddar.
Colour is a brown tawny, almost beer-like. Nice legs and good viscosity. Citric nose with a good bit of grapefruit, nice caramel undertones. In the mouth the caramel comes through well as do orange peel and lemon, raisins in the background. Not as dry as I was expecting and very warming. Certainly worth the fiver and a pretty good tawny that I would have in front of many other 10 year olds.
Goes well with the Stilton but not so great with the sharpness of the Cheddar.
I don't do scores.
