1978 Ridge Zinfandel Late Harvest.
Not a fortified wine, but drinks like one.
From a half bottle. Residual sugar 10.5%. 14.5% alcohol. 100% Zinfandel from the Dusi ranch in Paso Robles.
Has gone tawny. Gold-green rim. Aromas of prunes, dried figs, raisins. A hint of VA. Very silky and sweet on the palate. Refreshing acidity. Bit simple but a nice tipple. Actually, reminds me more of madeira, but of course with different flavors from the zinfandel grapes.
Not port but a nice wine
