So here's my first tasting notes. I've actually never sat down with a piece of paper and tried to describe the tastes and smells, and I found I could put words to more than I thought i could :o
Krohn 1997 Colheita. Decanted 1½ hours. Light red color with orange colors along the edge. Dry almost dusty smell with dried fruits as I can describe it. At first a very smooth sensation in the mouth almost sirupy (is that a word?) with a little bit of acid, but once you let air into the mouth the alcohol and flavours appears. As for the taste I find it very hard to distingush and describe specific flavours, but I get some associtations to dried fruits and generally a pleasant tawny taste. The alcohol is quite dominant at this point which I really like. I think this is an excellent port and priced at around US$ 24 I think it's a really good port which I would recommend.
