Decanted for 13 hours. Medium ruby color. Light cherry nose. Very suave and smooth mid-palate. Quite young. This is all red fruits, primarily strawberry. Very very long finish. A bit hot though due to alcohol. Excellent! This is consistent with other 1963 Taylor's that I have had recently. 93 points.
My 3rd place wine. Group 3rd place as well.

13 hours???

Any reason for this length of decanting? Just curious as that seems rather on the long side to me. Just curious. [shok.gif]

This was the choice of the tasting group. As you know, I'm not a fan of the long decant for older port. Young port, yes! They need a long, sometimes very long, decant. It was also hard to manage since everyone is busy at work, so the host decanted the ports before leaving for work in the morning. Several people complained and stated that the decant time should have been much longer (another day).
