A basic article about alternatives to cork

Pretty simple, but I thought it did a good job of describing the goal of a wine closure as well as where the various alternatives to cork stand today.

I especially liked watching the axe man do his thing removing the cork bark. That's not something you see every day. What a job!

Glenn, Thanks for that. I have a very slow internet connection at present and I have had the "three minute warning" that dinner is about to be served, so I will keep the video for another occasion. The harvesting cycle here is nine years, not the seven mentioned in the article. The year of harvest is painted on the tree - just a single digit, so trees harvested last year bear a 4 and will be harvested again in 2023.
