Tasted blind. This is a little darker than #3 (Sandeman), but not as opaque as #1 (Ramos Pinto). There is some spirit in the aroma, along with a berry cherry character, slight bubblegum, and cinnamon. This is sweet and warm in the mouth, and quite tasty. It is also warm in the long finish. Unlike many other 1985s tasted prior, this still has some tannins left to go along with some lighter acid. Definitely liking this one. 92 points. Later there was more cinnamon and winter spices like mace and nutmeg, along with some dried mushroom that gave a umami bent.
