From day 1 of the 1985 horizontal, 24-25 Jan 2015, Holiday Inn Issaquah. All Ports were tasted blind. Unless otherwise noted, Ports were decanted for ~4 hours the morning of the tasting. The ones that I decanted received ~8 hours of decant overnight and were then stoppered for another ~6 hours until the tasting.
1985 Quinta do Infantado Vintage Port
Color: medium dark red
Nose: very slight band aid note, almost rubbery. Otherwise soft fruits and gentle spirit.
Palate: "Fumes"-like flavor, soft fruits. Pleasantly secondary and mature, but rather simple. Would make a nice daily drinker.
Score: 85 points. I was surprised that this turned out to be the Infantado, as I don't usually expect them to be this pleasant. It lacked complexity and depth, but was otherwise a nice drink.
