Very dark color. Smokey, deep black fruit nose. Big wine, but balanced. Still quite primary. Good acidity. Definitely not overripe. Tastes mostly of Touriga Nacional to me with maybe a touch of Touriga Franca in the finish. There are some very fine tannins, but they did soften with air. I like this wine for early drinking. No one would confuse this with a 2011 Douro wine, but for early drinking it's fine and will keep my hands off the 2011s. I know that 2012 was a difficult year in the Douro, but this wine doesn't show that. $19.99 at Costco. 40% Touriga Nacional, 40% Touriga Franca, 20 Tinta Roriz. 88 points
