1966 Dow VP
Color: Medium garnet. It's starting to show some age, but not much.
Nose: Spicy, some plum, some pepper, and a few green notes. Possibly esteva?
Palate: Lightly spicy, rich, and fruity. There's still room for improvement in this bottle. Dryish, with good tannins and acidity. Warm heat bordering on being hot.
Score: 91 points. I can't really put my finger on anything, but I didn't feel like this was a good showing for this Port. The heat was a little bit distracting, but that wasn't the only thing preventing a higher score. I was expecting a higher score, but in looking back I've scored it pretty consistently at this level.
