1982 Sandeman Vintage Port -- Magnum

A wine group that I am part of does our yearly end of the college session and Bday dinner in the wine cellar at a local University. I took this as we were also going to partake in some cigars and I knew we'd need lots of Port. I didn't take any formal notes as there was tons of talking, laughing, and rowdiness going on. That said...Fully mature, cedar, licorice, strawberries, dried flowers, and fully resolved tannins. Fully at peak and time to drink up in this format so I suspect smaller formats may be just past prime. Still quite enjoyable and I'd be in the 88-89 point range if I had to score it.

How do you taste Port and rate it while smoking cigars too? [shok.gif]

I know you'll say you had a few sips b4 lighting up, but ... [shrug.gif]

Taste before smoking. Then smoke. Lol.

Had another mag Saturday night and that one was more mature than this...still nice but turning more tawny.
